Hagar's Choice (Why the name Hagar?)
History
Hagar was an Egyptian princess, cast away by her own people. She work as a slave to Abraham’s wife Sarah. Sarah was barren and forced Hagar her slave to “be with” her husband. But the site of Hagar being pregnant with her husband’s child, increased the jealousy within Sarah. The infertility of Sarah increased the jealousy.
Hagar felt the operation and headed off to the desert (in a pregnant state) It was in the desert that an Angel of the Lord appeared to her. The angel instructed her to return and to treat Sarah with respect.

...and then there were four
The idea from the start was to look after only ONE baby at a time. The need is really great - and the hospital phoned me and we agreed to take in TWO at a time...
...now my hearts capacity has grown to FOUR! The phone-calls come weekly and I've had to say NO on numerous occasions - as we can only accommodate so many babies at a time.

Premature Baby Born at 29 weeks
Eventually after all the paper work was done I packed my first “Kangaroo Mom” baby bag, waiting for the phone to ring so I can go and get my first baby.
I will never forgot that day the phone rang, nappy bag ready, pram and car chair ready. All the excitement, you could almost smell it in the air.

The first phonecall - bittersweet...
I must admit, I never fully understood the term bittersweet, until now.
Today I experienced a bittersweet reconciliation, definitely one of the most difficult but also the sweetest experiences ever.
On the 6th August 2014 I got the most beautiful little girl that was only 3 days old. She smiled from day one and brought smiles to our faces. She was such a blessing to us.
